It was passed in 2018 but it took many months to implement the system, which is still a work in progress.īitcoin’s use to launder money is particularly increasing among drug gangs such as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and the Sinaloa Cartel of captured kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, U.S. The law requires all registered cryptocurrency trading platforms to report transfers above 56,000 pesos ($2,830). Santoyo’s arrest represented an early success for a new law in Mexico - one of only two nations in Latin America, with Brazil, to enact such legislation - that seeks to tackle the intractable problem of how law agencies can track the use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies designed to anonymize users. The Mexican attorney general’s office declined to comment while the case remained open. Neither Santoyo, who is in custody, nor lawyers representing him could be reached for comment, and they have not commented publicly on the case in the past. and the pandemic is accelerating it,” said Santiago Nieto, head of the Mexican finance ministry’s financial intelligence unit (UIF). “There’s a transition to committing crimes in cyberspace, like acquiring cryptocurrencies to launder money. The cryptocurrency is emerging as a new front in Latin America’s struggle against gangs battling for control of vast criminal markets for sex, drugs, guns and people, according to law enforcement authorities. Yet it was not the 2,000 women Santoyo is alleged to have blackmailed and sexually exploited that ultimately led to his capture, but the bitcoin he is suspected of using to help launder the proceeds of his operations, officials said. I don't think manga Mihawk would do something like that, he'd likely fight Zoro on the spot.FILE PHOTO: An employee is reflected as she cleans the screen of a Bitcoin ATM in a shop in Mexico City, Mexico December 3, 2020. Not only do we get a Mihawk doing what the Marines (well, one specific Marine who we know despises pirates/warlords) tells him to, but then he gets roped into a duel and waits a whole night for it.

In the show, I don't think that feeling gets across(the show was excelling at world building up to this episode IMO). His sudden appearance and strength at obliterating Don Krieg's armada is so outlandish and out of this world that both the people watching/reading and the characters themselves are forced to recontextualize what to expect from the story: up to that point, the crew, while struggling at times, managed to overcome adversities with relative ease suddenly the sheer size of the task they set themselves to seems to set in, as something so far away and out of reach (kind of mirrored in the internal dialogue of Zoro while fighting Mihawk). My nitpick is mostly how they set up Zoro vs Mihawk: in the original show/manga, Mihawks introduction is one of the first hints at how huge and rich the world of One Piece is. Im hoping it will start picking up again once we get to Arlong, since it seems quite clear they just wanted to rush past Baratie :/ Mihawk cutting Kriegs ship also looked quite cool. I loved the Baratie itself, and both Sanji and Mihawk look good.

On the positive side the scenery is still nice. Lastly the entire conflict about Luffy not telling his crew about Garp feels incredibly forced and unnecesarry, which I suppose is what I would say for all of the additional Garp/Koby scenes as of now.

I'm not a big fan of the turning Mihwak into a lap dog either. In fact, Zeff forcing Luffy to work because he couldn't pay the bill seems complete counter to what He and Sanji believes is right. Sanji going out of the way to feed Gin also looses a lot of impact when there aren't any consequences to it. Seing as it here felt like he only came to blows with Fullbody because he started a fight, as opposed to him wasting the food itself. It felt like they only gave some half-hearted lipservice to 'not wasting food'. I feel they really neutered Sanji's introduction, failing to higlight any of his core beliefs. This was definetly the weakest episode so far.
